Split

The city of Split is across the water from us and so on Tuesday we took a bus around the bay and spent the day with Diocletian. Who's Diocletian you ask. Well he was a Roman emperor who in 295 BC chose Split as his retirement place. There he built a palace and spent the last years of his life with a troop of Pretorian Guards keeping him safe. We toured his palace which was a very large city block in size and now houses over 5000 people. It was very interesting and an energetic young tour guide took us around. We then took the ferry back to Slatine and a bus home. The Grahams stayed longer and got stuck between ferry and bus and gave us a scare. On the upside, I thought that I had inherited an Apple computer.
