Heritage Day Festival.

Today was taken up with the Heritage Day Festival. We joined Liam, Janelle, the girls and Claudi, their German student guest, for a day at the festival. The park and ride system worked well and made the whole experience much less stressful. Getting off the bus we stepped into an amazing array of Canada's cultural mosaic. Just about any nation that you might name was represented by a display of music, art, costume and, best of all, food.
The sun shone and the speakers blared out a raucus energizing mixture of music that kept us dancing as we ate foods from Afganistan to Zimbabwe. Sheelagh, Ngila, Beatrix and Claudi all got Henna tatoos from a Bangladeshi artist. The girls were great and we all arrived home tired and very well fed.
I think that we'll veg this evening.
